With a day off to rest their arms and enjoy some of the things to do in Marathon Florida Keys, Dwain and Denise Brannon got back on the SeaSquared today for more fishing.
We first headed to my shark hunting grounds to see what my pets have been up to. Sure thing – they’ve missed me and my offerings! We put the fish carcasses out and the lemon sharks came to the boat as if they’d heard the dinner bell.
Dwain and Denise ended up landed six of about 10 or 12 lemon sharks they hooked up – all in the four- to six-foot class. When the tide turned, we switched gears and shot over to the Bahia Honda bridges for some tarpon fishing.
We had quite the hammerhead shark interference today. One 15-footer snatched a tarpon while we were fighting it and we later saw the shark making quick business of a tarpon dinner. Despite the competition from the sharks, Dwain and Denise were able to land one of the three tarpon they hooked up – a nice 80-pounder.
