Florida Keys shark adventure for Indy folks

Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report, Capt. Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters, March 27, 2011

When Kevin Foust called to book his charter, he expressed an interest in shark fishing because it looks like we do that in calmer waters.

Calm waters are what they got.  So calm, you couldn’t distinguish the sky from the water – there was no horizon.

The fishing, however, was anything but calm!

Kevin, his wife Amy, their son Stone and Stone’s girfriend Jordan, weren’t quite sure what they got themselves into but they knew they weren’t in Winslow Indiana anymore.  In our four-hour trip, the group caught and released 10 toothy lemon sharks ranging in length from four to seven feet.

One of the sharks we caught had a tag from the research work I did with the University of Miami last September.  Pretty cool.

Catch-and-release shark fishing adventures are a ton of fun for anglers of all ages and abilities.  We’ve had shark wranglers on the boat from 7 to 90 years old.
