The Read family, from Mississauga Ontario Canada, watched Shark Week at their Tranquility Bay townhouse and decided they just had to experience some of that action for themselves.
After seeing an episode where some anglers got injured due to foolish behavior with sharks, mom Lucie was a tad on the cautious side when they arrived at the boat this afternoon. Capt. Chris assured the family that he does not fear sharks, but he certainly respects them as wild creatures and no one is ever at risk aboard the SeaSquared.
Fully assured, Alan and Lucie and their sons, Shawn and Dylan, hopped on the boat and we set off for our shark hunting grounds.
It took about twenty minutes after putting the baits out until the first of our guests arrived. We were also treated to a stingray and a sea turtle in our natural aquarium today.
Everyone got their turn at reeling in lemon sharks, with the largest going about seven feet.
High fives and wide grins back at the dock as the boys gloated that, while their school friends were spending the same old boring summer vacation at Prince Edward Island, they were catching sharks in the Florida Keys!
