Gulf Coast Research Lab’s cobia tagging program proves successful

Many of you who have caught cobia with us have experienced tagging them as part of the Gulf Coast Research Lab’s ongoing migration study.

SeaSquared Charters has participated in this research for a few years, and we have tagged nearly 100 fish.  About a dozen or so have been recaptured.  When this happens, we receive the report as does our angler who caught the fish.  It’s always interesting to see where the fish has traveled and how large it has gotten.

So, you can imagine how interested Christy was when she found a recent article about the success of the Gulf Coast Research Lab’s program, which began 23 years ago.
