Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report: Houston family nets dinner

Captain Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters, Marathon Florida Keys, Deember 30, 2010

The Coddou family – Stan, Carol, Ross and Stephen – from Houston chose Christmas week for their first visit to the Islands of Marathon.

They booked two trips with us, but the weather took charge and we were able to get out only one day.  But we certainaly made the best of it by fishing a couple of nearshore wrecks in Florida Bay.

The crew caught their limit of nice size mangrove snapper in the 16-inch class, some lane snapper and a bonus 6-pound gag grouper, one of the last on the SeaSquared for 2010.  They planned to feast on their catch of one of Marathon’s many fine restaurants.
