Floridians David and Rita Wilcher are no strangers to fishing, but Rita had never caught a tarpon.
We took care of that on their first of two outings with Jason and me on the SeaSquared.
Loaded up with plenty of live crabs, we went straight to Bahia Honda. The tarpon were very active and rolling on the surface when we got there. It took awhile to get the first bite, but once we did it was game on!
Each hook-up produced plenty of entertainment with the tarpon performing their best acrobatics and giving the anglers a good fight.
David and Rita ended up landing two of three hook-ups with the fish weighing between 100 and 120 pounds. Rita took a scale home as a souvenir of her first silver king!
