In Marathon for the Faro Blanco Invitational Tarpon Tournament, fishing buddies Tim McCoy, from Wellesley MA, and James Cashiola, from Cabo San Lucas Mexico, got out for some shark fishing ahead of their tarpon fishing.
I took them to my favorite shark spot, which I hadn’t visited in a couple of weeks. To our delight, the sharks welcomed our baits with open jaws.
Tim and James wrangled countless lemon sharks and got 12 of them to the boat – all in the five- to seven-foot category.
When Christy asked Tim which he preferred – shark or tarpon fishing – he replied, “Sharks for the action, tarpon for the challenge.”
Just goes to show, the Florida Keys have fishing options to fullfill the desires of all anglers!
