Despite sore arms from pulling in 20-inch yellowtail snapper, the Hensley family returned today to do battle with sharks.
As is typical for one of our Florida Keys shark fishing adventures, the water in Florida Bay was crystal clear and calm as in a bath tub.
We put our special chum in the water, waited a short few minutes, and then watched as the lemon and nurse sharks approached the boat.
It took no time at all for our first hookup.
By the end of the four-hour trip, all six family members – Chris and Aimee and sons, Ryne, Ty, Nolan and Cal – had successfully landed at least one toothy critter … for a total of 16.
When we got back to the dock, the boys told me it was by far the best fishing trip they’ve ever been on. I guess I outdid myself, considering they had snapper fished with me just yesterday!
