The universal language of fishing

Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report, Capt. Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters, April 10, 2011

Carlos Mercadal and Laura Valles moved from Spain to Miami seven months ago and have been loving the South Florida life ever since.  Laura’s parents, J. Luis Valles and Rosa Figuls, came from Spain for a visit.  The group spent a half day fishing with me during their Florida Keys adventure.

Admittedly, we had a little trouble understanding each other, but the universal language of fishing prevailed.  We fished in Hawk Channel and the crew put together a tasty catch of lane, yellowtail and mangrove snapper along with Spanish mackerel and porgy.  They released more grouper than we could count plus a short hogfish.

Carlos and Laura are already talking about coming back in June to catch and keep some of those grouper!
