Mark and Kenda Hopkins, from Farmington MO, got their wish!
When they called to book their charter, they said they wanted to pull on something big but also get something for dinner.
We started out on the reef with the intention of catching bait for “something big” along with some tasty snapper for their dinner. We had no problem snagging some blue runners and then Mark and Kenda caught a bunch of yellowtail snapper, keeping 8 nice size fish to have for dinner.
With the bait and dinner secured, we set off to accomplish our mission by dropping on a wreck for amberjack. The blue runners served us well. Mark and Kenda had two hooked up and landed one of them – a nice 25-pounder. It made for a welcome addition to our shark bait freezer!
Mark and Kenda enjoyed their yellowtail snapper cooked at Porky’s Bayside Restaurant. They had so much fun there with the locals, they came back the following evening!
Looking forward to seeing you guys back in Marathon soon. You would love tarpon fishing!
