Yippee! It’s time for the Boot Key Harbor lighted boat parade!

These blow boats will have nothing on the SeaSquared this year!

The Marathon Boat Parade of Lights is back and Team 7 Mile Marina is in it to win it!

Lance and the gang at Dockside Bar and Grill in Marathon have injected new energy into this locals’ holiday favorite.

To be held on Saturday evening, December 12, the event benefits two charities: Wounded Warrior Project and Forgotten Soldiers Outreach.

Entry to the parade is free to all vessels.  There are three classes: 17 feet and under, 17 to 30 feet, 30 feet and up, with prizes for the winner of each plus an overall winner.  Vessels assemble at the west end of the harbor and make a circuit, which gives shorebound spectators plenty of opportunities to see the passing boats.  Viewing spots in addition to Dockside include the City of Marathon Marina, Burdines’s Chiki Tiki Bar & Grille, the approach to the Boot Key Harbor Bridge and openings along Sombrero Boulevard.

If anyone knows how to rock the dock in true Florida Keys style, it’s Lance and his merry-makers at Dockside Bar and Grill on magnificent Boot Key Harbor in Marathon.  Following the boat parade, there will be a party at Dockside with prizes from local sponsors along with a silent auction and 50/50 raffle to benefit their chosen charities.

The second largest protected harbor in the Florida Keys, Boot Key is home to a colorful and tight-knit community of live-aboard and recreational boaters, charter fishermen and all-around good, hard-working folks.  They rarely miss an opportunity to get together to lift a cup of cheer, and you can be sure they will turn out en masse for this party!

Entry forms are available at Dockside Bar and Grill, Harbor Point Marine, West Marine and the City of Marathon Marina.
