Mike Lindle and his buddies, from TN and MN, had a blast wrangling sharks with SeaSquared Charters.
Mike had been reading our Marathon Shark Fishing site for some time before he finally got the chance to come to Marathon Florida Keys and try it for himself.
We had our first shark trip of the year on February 27 and – thanks to the warm winter we had – were thrilled to find our pets hungry and happy to see us. It was no different for Mike’s trip.
The guys were doubled up most of the time and even tripled up.
We had a couple of blacktip sharks at the boat but they wouldn’t take a bait. Our faithful lemons, however, were as aggressive as always. The guys had some break-offs by the larger ones and got spooled a time or two, but in the end, they landed 23 lemon sharks in the five- to six-foot class.
Toward the end of the day, a very large bull shark appeared in the mix and sent everyone else packing.
When we got back to the dock, Mike told us their Florida Keys shark fishing adventure was everything the website promises and more.
