International trio enjoys great Florida Keys fishing

Dora, Bassi and David return for more great Florida Keys fishing with SeaSquared Charters.

Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report – Captain Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters – November 14, 2010

David Barr and his wife, Joy, visit their vacation home in Islamorada about this time each year and David always gets in a day of fishing with his friends Dora Potash and Bassi Kristmanns.  Let me tell you, this trio of excellent anglers keeps me on my feet and laughing all day!  It’s a pleasure to have them on the boat.

This year, we hit a few spots in Hawk Channel and commenced to bending some rods.  The crew caught 5 mutton snapper to about 8 pounds, 10 large mangrove snapper up to 19 inches and 6 yellowtail snapper in the 15-inch class.  They also released numerous just-short grouper.  Rounding out the catch were 5 Spanish mackerel that are headed for the smoker.

This group really loves fishing, but I think they value the time spent together even more.  They were so pleased with their day that Bassi ordered 3 lobster art framed pictures of them back at the dock with their catch.
