Captain’s Blog – April 20, 2010 – Marathon Florida Keys – Bill & Vickie Yakimetz spent some time in the Keys to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

After a couple of days of the Duval Crawl, they came to Marathon and stayed at beautiful Conch Key Cottages.  They adored the serene setting with the little beach just steps from their cozy cottage.

About a month prior to their trip, Bill called to make their sunset cruise reservation.  He told Christy it was for their anniversary.  Needless to say, we were anxious for a flawless evening and we certainly were not disappointed.  The sky was a clear blue all day and the temperature and breezes were everything we think of when we say “tropical.”

What Bill didn’t tell us is that Vickie doesn’t like boats!   The bay waters were so calm and the scenery so stunning, she had no problem at all.

Bill and Vickie shared a champagne toast and loved the views of Pigeon Key, the Seven Mile Bridge, a sailboat at the horizon and the famous Florida Keys sunset.  A bonus was watching the boats hooking up and chasing tarpon at the bridge!

Happy Anniversary Bill & Vickie!
